Five years have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake. We visited Miyato, Naruse Ohka and Nobiru Elementary School in Higashimatsushima, Miyagi Prefecture with the JAXA Astronaut Kimiya Yui on March 14, 2016.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

We have collaborated with JAXA in various ways, such as sending the messages based on the spirit of “HEARTHEART” from JAXA Astronaut Hoshide and Wakata, and visiting Iwate and Miyagi Prefecture with Astronaut Wakata in last summer. This time, as part of the exchange project between the elementary school children in disaster-striken area and Astronaut Yui, we carried out school visit.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

At each school, we first screened the animation produced by XYZ. Then, Astronaut Yui gave a lecture on how he stayed on the ISS and how amazing the universe is. After that, we had a fun time with quizzes and physical fitness tests. Also, we handed our picture book to the children.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n
